You Are Always Ohana

Stay connected through Surfari.

Get Together. Give Back. STAY STOKED!

SURFARI is a series of pop-up events designed to keep mentors and mentees engaged and connected throughout the year. Each event includes a community service or give-back component and offers opportunities for youth-mentor interaction outside of regular programming. Typically, 5–12 events are held annually, with 40–120 youth-mentor connections made across the season. Events are open to all current and past mentors.

Co-Created by Youth, Mentors, and Staff
SURFARI is collaboratively developed by our SURFARI Crew (youth participants), Junior Mentors, seasoned mentors, and program staff. This shared leadership model ensures the events reflect the voices, needs, and ideas of the youth we serve—building ownership, community, and lasting impact.

Eligibility: Surfari is open to everyone who has ever participated in Surfrider Spirit Sessions, including mentees, mentors, board members, staff, and referral partners.
