T.J. Joseph serves as Po‘o Kāpehe at Surfrider Spirit Sessions, supporting organizational development, outreach, program development, and sustainability alongside the Executive Director. She plays a key role in advancing fundraising efforts, strengthening community partnerships, and ensuring program integrity while weaving Hawaiian values and perspectives throughout both programming and operations.
With 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience, including serving as CEO of Honolulu Habitat for Humanity and a decade as a lead facilitator with Keiki O Ka ‘Āina Family Learning Center, T.J. brings a depth of strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and cultural grounding to her work at SSS.
Rooted in aloha, kuleana, and lōkahi, she carries forward her commitment to uplifting Hawai‘i’s youth and families. T.J. is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools Kapalama. When she’s not working, she is a wife and a mother of four, and she’s passionate about Hula, Pule, and public speaking.
