Our Surf Ohana (family)
All mentors and youth who participate in Spirit Sessions become part of our Surf Ohana (family). We teach our youth that when we he`e nalu together, we are sharing the nalu of mother earth. In the process of he`e nalu we become ohana (family).
SURFARI: Events & Activities for our Surf Ohana
Special activities are planned throughout the year and are open to all teens and mentors, both past and present. These events provide a means for mentors and mentees to reunite as a group and strengthen bonds. Events happen throughout the year and include outrigger canoe paddling, Ocean Rescue classes, community service events, mentor Thank You BBQs and even a car wash or two.
Upcoming SURFARI: Events
SURFARI Event: Lifesaving & Ocean Rescue (7.4.2011 & 7.11.2011)
Mentors and youth are invited to sign up for our upcoming SURFARI Event: Lifesaving & Ocean Rescue. This 2-day course will be held on Saturday June 4, 2011 and Saturday June 11, 2011. Participants will earn CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and will learn and practice basic ocean rescue techniques.
Fee for Surf Ohana Youth: $5
Fee for Surf Ohana Mentors: $25
(Non-Surf Ohana fees are $100, certifications alone are valued at $65)

SURFARI Event: Club meeting (7.28.2011)
Mentors and youth are invited to join us for a free surf beach day coordinated by Kimo. The purpose is to reconnect, talk story and make plans for more SURFARI activities. Meet at Kuhio Beach, 10am, pot luck. Contact Kimo for more information and/or if you would like to help set up.
